Jack Daniel's
GentlemanDescription
Gentleman Jack is a true gentleman. It begins as Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey, but receives additional refinement when, after emerging fully matured from charred American white oak barrels, the whiskey makes a second pass through charcoal. The whiskey that emerges from the second mellowing still retains Jack Daniel’s distinctive flavor, but now is noted for its unmatched smooth, mellow finish. This light but flavorful whiskey is perfect for sipping on a cool evening or mixing in one of our delicious cocktails.
Producer
Mr. Jack Daniel established his distillery in 1866, making it America’s oldest registered distillery. He built his distillery in the little town of Lynchburg, Tennessee, in the Cave Spring Hollow because of the abundance of cool, iron-free spring water that was perfect for making his whiskey. We still make our whiskey here today. Jack Daniel’s is crafted according to all of bourbon’s quality standards but undergoes the extra step of mellowing drop by drop through 10 feet of hard sugar maple charcoal. Mellowing the whiskey is a time-consuming and costly extra step, but it gives Jack Daniel’s its smooth character and distinctive taste. It makes Jack Daniel’s a Tennessee Whiskey and not bourbon. After mellowing, Jack Daniel’s whiskey is matured in new, charred American white oak barrels, from which the whiskey draws its spicy oak notes and its rich, golden color.
