Cordon Negro MagnumDescription
A light, very modern cava, much appreciated for its refreshing style, created from a special blend of the three traditional, indigenous Penedes white varieties. The fruity character of this Cava is derived in great part from the low fermentation temperatures, between 14 and 16°C, which allow a great percentage of the natural grape aromas to be retained in the finished wine. Mediterranean fruits – peach, melon and pineapple, over a base of citrus, all beautifully balanced Fine, delicate aromas, combining tones of green apple and pear, with light resonances of by light toasty aromas from bottle maturation. The palate is refreshing, the sparkle balancing the green and citrus fruits.

Over 150 years ago, in the small Catalan town of Sant Sarduní d´Anoia the Sala and Ferrer families were well-known winemakers of quality wines. At the beginning of the 20th century the families were joined by the marriage of Dolores Sala and Pedro Ferrer Bosh. The young couple formed an unrivalled team, Dolores ahead of her time in detailed winemaking knowledge and Pedro, a bright young entrepreneur. Together they succeeded in gaining popularity and reputation for their wines and their hard work and determination was the start of Freixenet as we know it today.Till this day Freixenet is run by Pedro and Dolores grandchildren and is 100% family owned.
