MALACO A SWEET FAMILY MOMENT Malaco's trip began as early as the 1930s, when Malmö Licorice Compani, Sweden's first licorice factory, was founded in Malmö. At the time, just like it sounds, they produced licorice, some of the products which still to this day remain available in the Malaco product range. The name Malaco comes from the initial letters in Malmö Licorice Compani. In the year of 1979 one of our most popular products Gott&Blandat “a yummy mixture” was launched. The name originates from the fact that the contents of the bag could vary depending on what was produced in the factory at the time. However over time this product became so popular that they made sure that the content of the bag was always the same.Today, 80 years later, Malaco is market leader in sugar confectionery and of course in licorice.
