Freixenet

Description

This Chianti is a superb red wine made from traditional grapes (mainly Sangiovese) grown in the namesake region, nestled in the sunny vineyards of Tuscany. Its delicate bou- quet has tones of wild berries, complemented by lightly spiced notes and violet aromas, crowned with a delicate finish. This wine matches perfectly with pasta dishes, pizza or meat platters.

Over 150 years ago, in the small Catalan town of Sant Sarduní d´Anoia the Sala and Ferrer families were well-known winemakers of quality wines. At the beginning of the 20th century the families were joined by the marriage of Dolores Sala and Pedro Ferrer Bosh. The young couple formed an unrivalled team, Dolores ahead of her time in detailed winemaking knowledge and Pedro, a bright young entrepreneur. Together they succeeded in gaining popularity and reputation for their wines and their hard work and determination was the start of Freixenet as we know it today.Till this day Freixenet is run by Pedro and Dolores grandchildren and is 100% family owned.
